This exotic journey offers a wonderful
introduction and insight into the diversity
of birdlife, flora, wildlife and marine life in Sri
Lanka. Starting from the Sinharaja biosphere,
renowned for its native birds, this tour visits
the Udawalawe and Yala national parks
in search of wild elephants and leopards.
Continue to the west of the island to look for
blue whales and sperm whales off the coast
of Galle, and see turtles hatch in Kosgoda
before returning to Colombo.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Manchester – Caernarfon

Depart Manchester and travel along the north coast of Wales, to Llandudno, known for North Shore Beach and the 19th-century Llandudno Pier. Or head to Conwy, a historic walled town. These two towns are very different, yet only a few miles apart.

Day 2 Caernarforn

Today explore North Wales. Drive through the scenic Snowdonia National Park and stop at some of the picturesque villages. Explore Anglesey, the island off the coast of North Wales. Another place to explore is the Lly?n Peninsula, a stronghold of Welsh culture and stunning coastal scenery. B

Day 3 Caernarforn – Pembrokeshire

Stop at your leisure along the scenic west coast of Wales. Visit Portmeirion, designed in the style of an Italian village. Continue to Harlech Castle, then continue through Aberystwyth, an ancient market town. B

Day 4 Pembrokeshire

Explore the Pembrokeshire National Park, famous for its

stunning coastal scenery. Take a walk around Tenby to see multi-coloured houses and beautiful beaches. You can take a boat trip out to Caldey Island, or continue along the coast to visit Manorbier Castle. On the western tip of Pembrokeshire, visit St David’s, named after Wales’ patron saint, to see the cathedral. You may also stop in Pembroke, the birthplace of King Henry VII. B

Day 5 Pembrokeshire – Cardiff

Drive along the south coast of Wales to Cardiff. On your way, stop at Penderyn Distillery to discover how Welsh whisky is made, or drive around the Gower Peninsula to see some of the most stunning beaches in Wales. On arrival in Cardiff, visit the castle in the centre of town. B

Day 6 Cardiff – Manchester

Today drive north through the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park. Explore the many book shops and tea rooms in Hay-on-Wye. Or drive through the beautiful Wye Valley and stop at Tintern Abbey for photos. Either way, you will cross into Shropshire County, England. Explore the market town of Ludlow, which has a reputation for the quality of its food and drink with many excellent restaurants and cafes. Continue north to your hotel in Manchester. B

Day 7 Manchester

Your journey around Wales has come to an end, and its time to return your car and return home or continue your travels. B

  • Take a guided walking safari looking for endemic wildlife in Sinharaja
  • Enjoy a morning and afternoon wildlife drive in Udawalawe
  • Visit the famous Yala National Park for wildlife viewing
