ITINERARY

Day 1 Venice

Arrive in Venice and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 Venice

After a leisurely start to the day head to St Mark’s Square to visit the Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica with a guide. Discover the great treasures of Venice’s rulers and the anguish of prisoners crossing the Bridge of Sighs. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this iconic city. B

Day 3 Venice – Florence

Transfer to the railway station. Leave the city of canals behind you as you travel in land by train to Florence. In the afternoon take a guided walking tour and learn about the key sights of this renaissance city. B

Day 4 Florence – Siena – San Gimignano – Florence

Join a group tour driving past the vineyards and olive groves of the Chianti region to Siena, where you will experience
a two hour guided tour of this stunning city including the celebrated Piazza del Campo. Continue to San Gimignano, an ancient hilltop town with impressive city walls and medieval towers before returning to Florence. B

Day 5 Florence

Today is a free day to relax or explore. You can visit the world famous U zi Gallery, see the statue of David, climb to the top of Giotto’s bell tower, explore the Palazzo Vecchio or enjoy views across the city from the Piazzale Michelangelo. Alternatively head out of the city to Pisa, the Cinque Terre or the Tuscany countryside. B

Day 6 Florence – Rome

Board a train and pass through the rolling hills of Tuscany as you head south to Rome. Transfer from the station to your hotel. B

Day 7 Rome

Take in the incredible sights of Imperial Rome on a small group tour. Walk the streets of the ancient Forum and be dwarfed inside the towering Colosseum. For the rest of the day you can explore the eternal city. B

Day 8 Rome

A full day to discover the delights of Rome. Why not cross the Tiber to explore the Castel Sant’Angelo and the Vatican with its museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. B

Day 9 Rome – Naples – Pompeii – Sorrento

Transfer to the train station for the journey down to Naples. You’ll be picked up here and driven to Pompeii where you’ll have the chance to explore this amazing Roman city. Walk along the streets, enter 2000 year old houses and marvel at the preserved frescos. Continue to the town of Sorrento. B

Day 10 Sorrento – Capri – Sorrento

Enjoy a full day excursion to the idyllic island of Capri. Travel by boat across to the island, once there you’ll have a guided tour of both Anacapri and Capri Town practically traversing the island as you pass through the narrow streets. They’ll also be the chance to take an optional trip to the Blue Grotto before taking in the Faraglioni rocks and returning to Sorrento. B

Day 11 Sorrento

Today is free to relax and explore Sorrento or take an optional trip to the Amal Coast to discover the towns of Positano and Amal lapped by emerald waters. B

Day 12 Sorrento – Naples – Rome

Transfer from Sorrento to Naples to catch a train back to Rome where the trip ends. B
